Honda NSX

Welcome to Project NSX!

Thanks for visiting. This site is dedicated to our UK based Honda NSX, which has evolved from a road car, to track day car, to a full blown race car. There is also information on the NSX's history and other notable race NSXs from around the world.

This is a 'work in progress' and we are always looking for help on filling holes when it comes to the history of the NSX. So far we have had help from people in American, Japan and even a mechanic that worked on the Le Mans NSX.

The Honda NSX - or Acura NSX - was built between 1990 and 2005 in a dedicated factory built by Honda. The company wanted to prove their engineering ability and take on the likes of Ferrari and Porsche, with the aim of beating them at their own game.

Despite it's extraordinarily long life cycle, the NSX survived with surprisingly few changes. In Japan, they were lucky to get many types of NSX including the NSX-R, Type S and Type S-Zero. In the USA, there was the Alex Zandari edition, based on the JDM Type S. No other markets were fortunate enough to get their own special NSX.

The NSX competed in Le Mans for 3 years running. Honda Germany have also supported cars for the German ADAC GT series. Some modified production NSXs have been raced in some parts of Europe and the USA too. In Japan, the NSX has competed in the Super GT (née JGTC) since 1997. Last year, it won the 2007 championship.
