Honda NSX

About

Background

Our car - 'T2 NSX' was bought in 2003 as a replacement to an E46 M3. My father had grown tired of the negative image BMW drivers suffer from, and sought something more individual. Obviously, a Porsche 911 was out of the picture so the NSX was a logical choice. After a short search, a 3.2 Quantum Grey with Tan interior 2000 car was found at a  Honda dealer in Southampton.

Initially, there were no plans to turn this NSX into a race car. Nothing more than an occasional track day was expected of it. The ownership experience didn't start off so great, the clutch went on the drive home! Our suspicion was that it was used as press car at some point.

Despite the early issues, T2 NSX became a reliable track day car and we developed it to what you can see above. until it was stripped and mothballed in early 2009. We plan to turn this into a 'Super GT' replica in the future, to fulfil our ultimate dream of racing the world's fastest privateer NSX.

In late 2009, we purchased another NSX. This time it was a earlier 3.0 5 speed car. In a matter of months, the rather sorry looking green example was turned into a full on race car by the team at John Danby Racing. We are currently campaigning it in the UK and in Europe.

UK History

The NSX is a rare car, and in the UK it is even more so. The amount of cars in the UK is estimated at about 500. There are 2 semi-official NA2 NSX-Rs which Honda brought over to see if it was feasible to sell some. Despite the positive press - it won EVO trackday car of the year 2003 - Honda UK sadly chose not to bring any more over. One of the NSX-Rs is owned by 'Fuzilov,' an active member on the NSXCB Forums. It is believed his car is the more UK orientated car, missing the Potenza RE070 tyres, steering wheel and has different seat padding. The JDM version's whereabouts is unknown.

There are a few import JDM NSXs in the country too, and at least one NA1 NSX-R which has been owned by a couple of NSXCB members. It is in Charlotte Green and features rare Mugen bits.
